The Name of the Wind - Patrick Rothfuss
I heard a lot about this book and how great it supposedly should be. That always makes me very sceptical when I start reading it myself. Nevertheless, it DID turn out to be a great book; Patrick Rothfuss is a good storyteller and can smoothly blend different storylines together.
It started out as a supernatural/horror story and before I knew it, it turned into a Harry Potter kind of atmosphere. Way different though, although it's easy to draw comparisons when it comes to schools for magic.

If you're into the Fantasy genre, but also if you just enjoy a good story, I highly recommend this book. Kvothe, the protagonist of the story, has great potential to become one of the greatest hero's of modern fiction. I recently saw he already got his own 'Kvothe Six-String hero card' in Sentinels of the Multiverse, one of my favourite boardgames.

The only reason why I didn't give this book 5 stars is because I can't STAND Denna, one of the main characters. If she only had a small role to play, I'd probably be able to overlook it more easily. Nevertheless, all that's left for me to say is: get aquainted with Kvothe if you haven't already!
