Review

Wow! What an awesome little gem of a book. It's cozy, it's creepy; it's sad, but really not THAT sad. I can recommend this book to anyone who likes Fantasy, stories with a little horror-twist in it and/or stories about growing up. I can also recommend this to people who still, and probably always will, feel like a 7-year old on the inside:
“Grown-ups don't look like grown-ups on the inside either. Outside, they're big and thoughtless and they always know what they're doing. Inside, they look just like they always have. Like they did when they were your age. Truth is, there aren't any grown-ups. Not one, in the whole wide world.”
I started out by listening to the audio version before going to bed, but decided after two nights that this book is not something to keep falling asleep to(which I was unable to do anyways, because it was way too exciting). That doesn't take away the fact that I think it was just as wonderfully narrated as it was written; I wish Neil Gaiman would read me to sleep every night!
I also loved Tori Amos being mentioned in the Acknowledgements since I've been a huge fan of Tori for almost 20 years now. Awesomeness attracts awesomeness I suppose!
